Cyberbullying Bill Passed in Kansas
Earlier this month, Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius signed a bill prohibiting cyberbullying in all Kansas public schools.HB2758, introduced by Representative Burroughs, amends the existing statute that required school districts in Kansas to prohibit bullying on school property or during school events and will extend their policies to include cyberbullying.
Cyberbullying, not only in the United States, but entire world, is a rapidly growing problem that needs to be addressed. Electronic bullying can has serious consequences, including documented cases of suicide. Megan Meier is one such case that brought international attention to the issue of electronic bullying.
Now that Kansas has taken the lead in America, hopefully other states will soon follow?
