California High School Receives Online Threats
Due to numerous online threats, classes were cancelled last week at the Glen A. Wilson High School, located in Hacienda Heights, California, resulting in the arrest of one student.
On Wednesday, the following threats were posted on the Glen A Wilson’s Wikipedia page:
“On Friday, April 18, 2008, there will be a shooting at this school… Take this text down and it will guarantee their death . .”
The threat also listed specific names of intended targets.
When those statements were removed, another threat was posted:
“You removed my last edit. I gave you a fair warning. Now the people listed in my previous edit will be victims in the Glen A. Wilson Shooting to occur this Friday. Your lack of attention to the seriousness of my warning will now be the reason as to why you will receive all fault of this event. Be prepared to have 33 families mourn the loss of their children and place a lawsuit upon your shoulders.”
Officials closed the school based on due to the specificity of the threat.”On Friday, a male student was arrested and admitted to posting the threats. The students name, a minor, was not released.
